Our people are very persevering.  Our climate is not the easiest to survive in. We regularly have typhoons which destroy a lot of the temporary settlements. So after the typhoon has passed some people need to start rebuilding everything.

Others often find us to be quite obstinate and stuck in our ways. We don’t like to change much to our society. We have also been described as very stubborn. We like things the way they are so you won’t see us settling down in one place very soon.

Our country is dominated by males. They have al the rights and power. Our supreme leader is our monarch Odin who rules the country with an iron fist. The same way that every father rules there family with an iron fist. You can surely say that our country is very masculine.

We love nature and we try our best to be respectful of it because it is our biggest source of employment, but also because we need it to have food. Therefore we preserve as much nature as we can. Our country is know for being very green and this is one of the reasons that tourists visit Merek.

Merek has a nomadic population. People love to roam around and travel a lot throughout the country. We love to explore and to go looking for adventure. Our nomadic lifestyle is only possible because we have a young population.
